Isopropyl Nitrite – Very strong, harsh aroma, poor shelf life.
Isobutyl Nitrite – Strong, oily aroma, poor shelf life, Smooth and lasting cleaning effects.
Pentyl Nitrite – Medium strength, sweet aroma, stores very well.
Amyl Nitrite – Medium to strong, sweet aroma, stores very well, best cleaning duration.

80% Amyl nitrite / 20% Propyl Nitrite
80% Pentyl Nitrite / 20% Propyl or Isobutyl Nitrite
Legality.
Another thing to consider is the legality of specific alkyl nitrites in your country. Countries such as UK permit ONLY isopropyl nitrites. Countries such as New Zealand only permit nitrites if you have a prescription. Asian countries consider Amyl nitrites as prescription only. Make sure you know the various restrictions on Alkyl Nitrites in your country.
